Review on πŸ”Œ Outdoor White Extension Cable by Coleman by Scott Ramu

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Chosen because it was a 1-day prime. See overview for notes. Recommended

With a product like an extension cord, it's difficult to provide enough useful information to justify the time taken to read this review. .For me the deciding factors when buying extensions (I bought 6 pack) were: 1 day prime (I had to do a decorative project), low price, outdoor use and length. In the past my main concern with external extensions has been the UV resistance of the outer shell. In the Texan sun it usually goes from fading to reduced ductility to cracking (unsafe in this case). Lightening shouldn't be an issue with white wire, and it can benefit from a more reflective color (and emissivity shouldn't be an issue, as there shouldn't be any appreciable current flowing through that wire). much harder than i expected. It doesn't matter, but it looks like 12 or 14 gauge wire, not 16 gauge wire. The current power is enough for my needs (low power jewelry), but it doesn't work for a 15-20 amp load. Other things I'm concerned about: 1. The spring tension on the female end is quite high - this is important if your extension is connected vertically.2. The cable is clearly visible. That might be a downside for some, but I prefer not to trip over it in the dark and let my gardeners shred it up with a mower or weed cutter. Conclusion The cable works as expected. My notes simply point out things I find different (positive or negative). I recommend the product to anyone who agrees with what I have stated.

Pros
  • LED EXTENSION SPECS: 20', 16 gauge; Total sockets: 1
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
