Must have perfect angle when sharpening edges
I bought this sharpener mainly to sharpen my ceramic knife. I've tried it on my ceramic knife as well as kitchen knives and scissors. You have to find just the perfect angle to get a good sharp edge or it will backfire and dull it. This works well enough to sharpen my ceramic knife, but I have to repeat this process about once a month because it doesn't sharpen it enough for the blade to stand up to regular use.
