Review on 🔒 Smith & Wesson Model 100 M&P Lever Lock Standard Chain Handcuffs - Enhanced Steel Quality for Improved Searchability by Rudy Santos

I suspect mine is defective

I work in law enforcement and bought two of these cuffs specifically for their lever closure system which would make double cuffs easier. I oiled the cuffs and worked with them for a few minutes to feel their stiffness. All four lever locks (two per cuff) are so tight I can't get them to latch with two fingers. They are so stiff that it hurts to press on them and my nails break when I try to hook the lever this way. I use my cuff wrench or the edge of my key to depress the lever anyway. I assume that I have received defective cuffs and will return them as soon as possible. If that's not a problem, otherwise these are great cuffs. Second Purchase: I bought a second pair and am planning to return the first ones. The second set works much better. I would still say the second set is a bit stiff but certainly useful and I would expect them to loosen up with more use. I realized that all the lever-lock handcuffs I used on co-workers were nickel-plated. These new handcuffs were still a bit stiffer than this one. My guess is that the melonite coating could be the reason for the stiffness of some levers. Based on the performance of this new set, I will continue to buy this product in the future. However, the experience just didn't make me feel that 4th star.
