Considering there are no perfect handcuffs I have to say they come pretty close. These were my favorite cuffs all winter and most likely will remain so. I work in law enforcement and bought two of these cuffs specifically for their lever closure system which would make double cuffs easier. I oiled the cuffs and worked with them for a few minutes to feel their stiffness. All four lever locks (two per cuff) are so tight I can't get them to latch with two fingers. Like their pistols, these M&P handcuffs are just as good as the gold standard handcuffs (S&W M100), PLUS they're easier to use. When I was a correctional officer in Missouri I was given S&W handcuffs and it was the only thing we ever used in the entire state and they worked great. BUT .
