Very happy with juicers

An old friend finally convinced me that adding juice to my diet was worth the effort, but then it came down to which product to buy. I chose Mooka based on very good early reviews and the price. I've been making juice for two for 4 months straight. Some days I only do one serving and other days I do it for two or three days. Each plate pictured plus kale (or spinach, chard, squash, etc.) makes two servings of about 10 ounces each. I also add fresh ginger and turmeric root, both of which are very firm and give very good juice. Although the juicer has both a soft and hard setting, I always use the hard setting which is needed for carrots etc. The taste of the juice is fantastic and the yield is very good. The real working key is preparing veggies and fruit in a way that cuts them into wedges (apples, etc.) or strips (carrots, celery, cucumbers) so that they can easily fit down the down tube. For carrots, etc., I cut into +/- 3 inch segments, then roughly slice lengthwise once or twice. Leafy greens need to be roughly chopped quickly. Use carrots to push through softer foods and don't overload the downtube. The pusher helps a lot and is short enough that it doesn't bind with the snail. Don't overfill the chute and press really hard - this isn't exercising, it's cooking! Finally, be patient with the new machine. however, since the new parts are very tight, you will quickly learn to disassemble and clean the device.
