BEFORE I put on my new work boots for the first time, I generously applied this shoe oil to all leather parts of both boots. (NOTE: The oil will darken the leather, so do not use if you wish to preserve the original, natural color of the leather.) I allowed the oil to fully soak into the boots and then reapplied in several places (seams, lacing). Holes etc.) I missed the first time I used it. After waiting a total of about 48 hours for the oil to fully soak in, I finally put them on. At this point they were so soft that the break-in period took about 3 minutes. Also, I don't work in the rain, but sometimes I work in the garden when the grass is wet. The fact that they are now waterproof is really obvious. I couldn't be happier with the results!
