Don't do it, just not on beds and furniture
We sent it back and got our money back. It was clearly poorly made as the assembly did not fit snugly and a bolt hole was not drilled far enough to fit the part so assembly could be completed. In that case, I would be concerned that it actually keeps the cat safe. I recommend looking for another product.
