The only reason I give this product 4 stars is that I have no idea how it compares to a similarly described honing fluid. However, I learned that. and so I write: Don't be afraid to use it without gloves. I use it with diamond bits to remove end mill marks after end milling. It works. I have a suspicion that this is just reducing surface tension, but since it works it might help more than I think. I spent six hours in this liquid with my bare hands today, five hours yesterday. I'm no worse in a sock. No skin, no nails, no fingers fell off. No loss of feeling, nothing strange. Therefore, if you are in a difficult situation or just want to work without gloves, I think the manufacturer recommends wearing them - this is CYA.
