Review on JENSEN CD-490 Portable Stereo CD Player: AM/FM Radio, Aux Line-In - Red and Black by Chris Riley

This is a real review written by a real paying buyer, not a seller discount product for a good review. I'm a machinist/engineer with 40 years experience, I have 3 Bose Wave radios and a Bose home theater surround sound system, so I know the crying and the demand for quality, realistic sound. I work in a dirty, noisy, machine-heavy environment and needed a small, lightweight device to play CDs with acceptable sound. This one is perfect. It reproduces the superior sound quality of Jensen speakers without the amplified, artificially enhanced "super bass" that everyone seems to want. I have a very eclectic taste in music, from smooth jazz to real jazz, blues and classical music. I've been attending symphony performances for years, so I know what real live music sounds like, not the massive, artificially amplified rumble of an indoor or outdoor concert. Bose produces really lifelike sound and surprisingly it's pretty damn good for the price. It's small and light and easily fits in my tool box. And if it messes up at work, I've spent less than $50 and will just buy another one. My Bose Wave radios are $500 each and I won't even mention the cost of the home theater system! Not even close to Bose with very good sound for this price.
