I had a new HP laptop with Windows 10, no VGA port but with two external monitors, HDMI and VGA. The VGA monitor was still great, so naturally I wanted to keep using it. So I bought the cheapest USB to VGA adapter first and it just broke after a few minutes so I gritted my teeth and bought the more expensive plugable. a little longer but still crashed; I was unhappy. Plugable was very responsive and supportive but still didn't work. But over time I found and uninstalled all the drivers for the first cheap crappy USB->VGA adapter and Windows 10 released a few updates. Combination, after a few months I use the plug-in adapter all day every day and it has been working reliably for several months now. Therefore, I completely retract my original negative review and give it 5 stars. It does exactly the job I want. The only annoyance is the light blue flickering LED, but you can hide that and it works great.
