The only reason I bought this kit was so I could get a new cylinder. An OEM cylinder costs $250-$300. This kit is very cheap so I bought it. With intentions of ONLY using the cylinder and then rebuilding my engine with name brand parts, I may give this review for other items. I think the piston is ok. I personally wouldn't run it in my engine. The piston is cast, not forged. Cast pistons are weaker. This piston seemed to me to be too light and very stiff due to poor casting quality. Piston rings appeared to be of "good" quality. I put the piston rings on the piston and the top ring was a perfect fit and free to move. The lower ring, the groove in the piston were tight - again due to poor quality casting. When I opened the box I found that the head gasket was bent, but I still had no intention of using it. Just like the needle bearing had a couple of missing bearings and was rolling around in the box. For those looking to restore, DO NOT assume this is a quality kit. The only thing worth using in this set is just the cylinder that I used. But it only costs money because of the extra jug, because like I said, OEM cylinders are expensive.
