This bandage is effective and easy to put on. Once put on, it stays in place well enough. The bandage has two plastic cups that protect the hand and skin from abrasions. It has no moving parts and should last a long time. FYI there is another type that has a knob that you can turn to adjust the internal pressure point. I have both and use them alternately. It is important to know that the density of the bandage must match the activity. For example, the tighter the bandage, the less freedom of movement. So if you're printing to a computer, you may need heavy packaging. When you blow dry your hair, you'll probably need to loosen it to get closer to your head. The adjustable cape allows this by turning the handle. Another one requires you to adjust the velcro. UPDATE: Having owned and worn two capes for several months, I will say that I definitely do NOT like this model over the other. I find it inconvenient and difficult to use and maintain (in the field, etc.). I have not lowered my rating as there is nothing wrong with the product. I just like the other one better.
