I needed something to record shows from my DVR to my computer and this little device is perfect for that! Simply connect an HDMI cable, which normally plugs into the back of your TV, to one end and then to a USB port on your computer, and you're done! Windows 10 will automatically install any necessary drivers and tell you (assuming you allow notifications) that you're done. Once installed, you need a program like XSplit Broadcaster (free for basic use, expandable for more features) to record or broadcast on your PC. The instructions mention XSplit as the first option along with several others you can try. The recording is pretty good. I did notice a few scenes where the video was choppy, but it wasn't bad. For the most part, it looked like the original video. Remember that the recording speed is 1x. So if you record a 60 minute video, it takes 60 minutes! All in all, this small, inexpensive device is amazing considering all the different uses it has. If you need a way to record HDMI to USB input, check it out!
