I rented a similar unit from my local hardware store for 1 day and it worked fine but the cost of renting another day would have covered this unit! I chose this instead of renting and renting more. Wow! We carry out repairs in the kitchen-dining room with a total area of 400 sq.m. I have covered the doors and entrance to the lobby with plastic and am placing this unit relatively close to where I work. The house was built in the early 40's so when the drywall collapses you not only get drywall dust but TONS of other dust/dirt etc. This unit gobbles it up whole. I just leave it on all the time when I work - and the device I rented, by the way, sounded like I had a jet engine in my kitchen and I can still listen to music and podcasts on it - and I almost did no dust to clean up when I'm done. I don't cough or sneeze, and there's no dust moving around the house, which means my family doesn't cough or sneeze either! Absolutely love this unit - if you are doing any renovations you NEED this.
