Review on ๐Ÿ‘ถ BabyKicks Small Prefold Diaper - Pack of 3 by Megan Lucas

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent, but very chunky in the front.

I love using these pre-sleeves as a night diaper, but only as a night diaper. As expected, the hemp gets stiffer with each wash and since it's quite long, you have to fold it at the front. I don't like my kid sitting in it due to the rigidity and bulkiness in the front. I can tell it's digging into her stomach. Anyway, I bought these specifically as nighttime nappies, so I don't mind that they aren't very versatile for the kids' active time. They're difficult to use with Snappi, but not really necessary. Diaper covers are usually good at keeping them in place. They take as long to dry as my Indian cotton twill prefolds. I will definitely go up in size as they are very absorbent. NOTE: Like all pre-pleated natural fibres, they need to be "preparedโ€. To prepare, you need to wash them in hot water at least 6 times to remove the natural oils in cotton, hemp, bamboo, etc. If you don't want to wash them 6 times, cook them up with some Dawn Original. that's a good shortcut. Of course, after that they need to be rinsed at least 3 more times to wash off the dawn. However, this must be done before first use in order for it to be absorbent. After that, they only get better with every wash. Update after 5 months of use: I still wear green trim kids sneakers and my daughter is in the 50th percentile for height and weight. Looks like I'll be using them for at least another month. They are now very absorbent and not as bulky as she has grown into them. Without a doubt they are workhorses. Although expensive, it's worth it. I will definitely buy the next size up.
