For decades I've relied solely on chain removers, not those flimsy new-fangled links. Spring. I have to say that I decided to use the links from my x9e mid-drive e-bike chain, which has a tremendous amount of torque applied to it compared to a regular bike chain, and held the missing link perfectly. This includes some deletions. I'm using Park MLP 1.2 and it works great for both opening and closing the missing link. I bought a second park tool to keep in my bike tool bag so I never have to resort to a chain breaker again. I hope :-)
