I kept thinking about putting a shock collar on my dog, even though he was extremely cheeky and stubborn. Once when he was walking and wrestling with him, the guy was walking his two off-leash dogs across the street. They were surprisingly obedient, sitting perfectly still at his feet, and I did my best not to be dragged across the road by mine. I asked him his secret and he kept telling me Sportdog. Stressing the importance of following the manual that comes with all collars, he mentioned that he had always used this brand and even asked the company to replace his broken collar for free or hassle-free. On the way home I googled the brand and read reviews about Revain. I ordered mine the same evening and received it in about six days. I wasn't sure how my dog would react or how well it would work for us and we're still working on some things together. But so far it has been the wisest decision I've made for my dog. What a difference! Within 24 hours it was like having a second dog. My "no” actually has a certain weight and ultimately deserves respect. He focused on me and what I want and expect and completely changed the dynamic of our relationship and training. It has also changed things for the better for him, leading to an even bigger, broader positive impact. On walks we can now go to the park, to the pet store, anywhere. We can play in the yard and he won't run away. He gets the exercise and attention he deserves. spanking does. In fact, at level 3 (the highest we should use for this) it doesn't even feel in the palm of your hand. And yet it still works to correct his disgusting stubbornness. If you're thinking about it, or back and forth like me, just do it. You will definitely have no regrets if you are devoted to your pet and want them to be obedient.
