First, it's a small buffer bottle. Make sure you know what size you are buying. I have used it alone to raise pH and also in combination with SeaChem Acid Buffer to reach my target pH. Depending on the size of your aquarium, you may need a very small amount, so it's best to have measuring spoons on hand. There is a table on the Seachem website that shows how much of this product you need along with an acid buffer to achieve a specific pH based on the size of your aquarium. It takes a little experimentation to know how to dose this product, but it does the job well. Very satisfied!
