Received this today for my new Apple Macbook Air which I received a few days ago. I connected the HDMI port to the TV and started watching a movie on the TV. I then decided to plug in my old Macbook (which I currently print to, it works great) to transfer my data to the new Macbook. So I took a good USB cable and plugged it into this adapter and the other end into this Macbook and my BRAND NEW computer died right there and I can't boot it. I've tried holding down the power button for 10 seconds to a minute. I've been holding down the power, control, shift, and select keys and it absolutely won't turn on. My new computer was fully charged and plugged into a surge protector. I'm currently awaiting a response from Apple and am afraid they will tell me this because I was using a third party adapter. My BRAND NEW computer will not turn on. I've been using Apple since I was 12 in the 80's, never had this problem in 35 years. This is madness.
