As other reviewers have noted, the threads on both the spikes and inserts are poorly finished. too much play, rough surface, chips not removed, etc. Even if you pass the spikes through the insert several times before installation, they often get stuck during installation. I use better (and more expensive) spikes for (£150) speakers in my main system. It would have been unbearable there. If they got stuck trying to adjust, it would take three people to fix it! They fit my 35lb HT speakers. SUMMARY: They do what the speaker tips are supposed to do, stabilizing the speaker to Newton's 3rd law of motion, which delivers cleaner and faster transients and reduces audible blurring in the time domain. A reasonable value PROVIDED that your attitude and patience can handle crappy threads.
