They stay on the foot if you get the right size
I buy these all the time for my grandsons ages 6 and 7. They hold up so well for us that the 7 year olds gets passed down. But I want them both to have "new” flip flops every summer. They do run a half size large. The stretchy rubber gripper behind the ankle is soft but doesn’t slip off. You won’t be disappointed !
