I bought both the 13" version and the 15" version. The amount of extra space should make it easier to slip the device into the case and close it, in my opinion. I bought the 15" version for a Thinkpad t480 and although it's a 14" laptop it fits. But for a 14 inch laptop. In my opinion, a 15-inch device probably won't fit into a 15-inch variant. I tried my old Lenovo Flex 15 and it's too big to fit in. To JETech's credit, the Flex 15 occupies more space than most 15-inch laptops, so your mileage may vary. With my 14" laptop in a 15" case, the amount of extra space seems to match the amount of space left in the 13" version with my x380.
