I bought these shoes based on the recommendations I read here on Revain. I recently started boxing and needed something with extra grip and ankle support. In short, they did their job. It was absolutely amazing how much traction affected maneuverability on these Asics. I felt much more secure in my support. As other reviewers have pointed out, make sure you get a full size larger than what you normally wear. I usually wear size 12 or 12.5 running shoes; I bought them in size 13. All in all, these shoes are priceless. Pros: - All the reasons I mentioned above. - Extremely light weight. Disadvantages: - People with flat feet or wide feet cope with shoes for the first time. - You have to be patient. Take the time to break these shoes in properly. When I ran on the treadmill after a few laps, I felt a little uncomfortable in the sole of my foot. However, I'm not sure if that slight ache was because these shoes weren't made for walking, or if my wide feet weren't used to such shoes. The above (i.e. difficulty getting dressed and pain in sole of foot when walking) is due to having weird feet. These shoes are really great.
