Let me start by saying that we are one big headphone family. My husband works in tech at a big school and I tutor and do a lot of work on videos, music, conferences etc. We are also a very large music family and create content. Sound is very important to us; like the products. I came across this brand a few years ago; and soon they became one of my (our) favorite brands. We have several other headphones from them and have had an EXCEPTIONAL customer service experience. I was really excited to try these as they are similar to another model we have that is a bit older (although it still sounds fantastic and has stood the test of time). These headphones are great budget headphones, and I used "budget" fairly loosely. They have the sound and quality of mid-range headphones (comparable to headphones in the $80-$120 range), as well as build, comfort, and looks more expensive and more luxurious models are really more luxurious (e.g. the on-ear headphones which are a bit softer) I have no complaints about that. The muffs themselves are very soft but firm as I would like them to be.The plastic looks It's not cheap; and you get little features like an LED indicator on the power button, a toggle switch to toggle between Bluetooth and noise-cancelling, which in our many years of experience isn't common for headphones in this price range The packaging is nice, but simple - you get one USB charger, an audio jack and an easy-to-understand user manual. As for the noise-cancelling function, all you need is headphones in the bluetooth -Have mode, noise is instantly muffled - no audio playback and over. As I type this from my patio, I stop the music and I can barely hear the tractor in front of our house in the vegetable patch. I wouldn't say it's as "strong" as their more expensive models; and I have a very loud and noisy 2 year old and an enthusiastic, energetic, constantly singing 5 year old and 13 year old player to test the limits of these possibilities lol they will definitely be humming the loud Paw Patrol themed music; Frozen barrads and the screams of a teenager killing screaming zombies - at least on a very muffled and understandable level of mind processing. lol I prefer their more demanding NC headphones for tasks I really need to focus on - like critiques of musical compositions. ; or setting up the tractor, or the often annoying noises when my husband pulls his paramotor. The earbuds also have a metal extension instead of a plastic one; hood, and the headphones easily rotate up, down and side to side; and simple additional volume buttons next to the power button. I hope my long review gives some better ideas on comparisons and general everyday possibilities. The only reason I'm not rating the nc fx 5 stars is that while it's definitely great and excellent for the price; it's slightly less than the more expensive models, although I think most will choose them overall; if they really wanted it. Verdict: Great headphones, great price, great customer service and craftsmanship. These are fantastic headphones for the average person and those who enjoy listening to music. Great for kids; especially those who can be a bit rude as children often are! Battery life update: I recently took it on a 3 day trip and our 13 year old One used it for over 23 hours - I also forgot to turn it off and left it overnight until around noon the next day. It's been a few days since our trip and I still haven't charged them. Verdict - Very impressed with the battery life, especially when using the NC for its entire lifetime!
