For my Miniature Pinscher, he likes to nap in that thing in the yard but I try to keep it in partial shade, half in the shade of the sun so he can choose which side he wants. Sometimes I put my cat in it. I'm afraid he'll run away (not neutered) if I just let him run around, so that helps. He can go outside for a bit and I don't have to worry about him fighting. The spikes that come with this item are rubbish and you should take the stronger ones and discard the ones that come with them.*** Do not abuse this item. The animal cannot come out if you forget or leave it behind. You still need to supervise your pets if you keep them outside. *** Verdict: If this is what you've been looking for, it's probably what you're looking for. Suitable for indoor use if you have an animal that is giving birth or you have a potty problem or if you just want your small pet to rest peacefully with you outside. It's aquaphobia and I personally find it a bit uncomfortable to clean, but it might just be me being a bit lazy. 😅
