It was very frustrating to adjust this stand narrower for my laptop. The screws would not loosen with the included Allen key, which is made of flimsy metal and comes off easily. The screws were incredibly tight, so much so that they deformed the grooves in the stand (see photo after I finally loosened them). I had to go to the garage and get my best set of allen keys, which made the job a little easier. Even after I loosened the bolts, the block still couldn't be adjusted because the metal at the base had warped from over tightening. I had to completely remove the bolts, adjust the sliding parts, and then reattach the bolts. I recommend the manufacturer widen the slots a bit and talk to the bodybuilder who is putting the bolts in and ask them to loosen them a bit. When I put it back together it worked great and looked beautiful.
