I absolutely can't say enough good things about it. My son LOVES this. We use it as a timer at night - he has 15 minutes to read on his tablet after the lights go out, so we turn on the moon and when it goes out he knows it's time to do that to put the tablet away. He then switches him into eclipse mode, which emits a red glow that he finds calming and puts him to sleep. In the middle of the night he turns on the full moon to have light to enter and exit his room. It also adjusts to the phases of the real moon outside - an endless sense of fun to see if it's right or wrong. To hang it, there are markings on the back so you know how to line it up. The biggest problem we had was losing that tiny remote control. I ended up closing it with velcro so it could be easily attached to his bed. USE my additional function now? A whole different story. Now it uses batteries, but I haven't changed them in eight months. There is a spot where you can insert a cable and plug it into the wall, but I've never used that feature.
