I bought one of these because I was trying to find a quieter battery powered fan than the ones I have for power outages. While my other battery powered fans are moving air, it's impossible to sleep with them on. I was skeptical but other reviews convinced me to try this remedy. I have to admit I was very surprised and very happy! I even replaced the other electric fan in the bedroom with this one because it's quieter. I keep it on my bedside table. I like the fact that it has a low profile so it doesn't take up much space. I find running on the lowest settings is perfect for white noise and cools the room while I sleep. At the highest level it is still very quiet, it just cools the room down too much for me. But I know that if we have a power outage in the summer and I'm trying to cool a room with it and a swamp cooler, I'll appreciate that quiet high speed. I liked it so much I bought a second one just in case I needed it.
