I don't have much to compare to because this is my first experience with coco coir. I bought both the worm castings and coco blocks from Plantonix and they seem to both be fine and of good quality. If you're planning to break up the blocks to use (as I intended to), keep in mind that breaking them apart is quite difficult. But this seems to be the smallest size you can purchase for a good value. Luckily I only needed to replant one item, so I only needed maybe 1 cup of coco coir - I was able to slice of "slivers" of coco coir from the block with a knife carefully and that was rehydrated into just the perfect amount to repot with.I mainly purchased this because I hate dealing with gnats in potting soil and also am paranoid about storing potting soil. The coir blocks are totally dry and compacted and make storage so much easier. Never using peat again.
