Review on Pyle PHCT85 HDMI High Definition Cable Tester: Battery Operated Line Finder & Continuity Checker - Test Up to 19 Type A HDMI Cables, with LED Light Indicator & Wire Tracker by Billy Ivy

My decision to purchase this HDMI Tester has a long and painful history. The first one was previously used and resold to me as new (!) and it turned out to be an unstable connector, so it was never quite sure if the tested cable was bad or good. Sent back for exchange. The replacement arrived without incident but also turned out to be defective, albeit for a different reason. The larger unit was fine with no issues and successfully tested a known good cable. However, connecting a known-good cable to a smaller device consistently showed an error that wasn't there. The small (outlying) block was bad. Will be returned for exchange once I print shipping label. Revain solves these problems very elegantly, so you can easily return a defective product, however, this is the most convenient for you. However, parent company PYLE supplies an almost useless guide along with a phone number for underworld tech support with their (really) smart cable tester. I called several times and went different ways in their decision tree but I NEVER spoke to a real person so no matter how long I waited. What the heck - If I didn't need this machine I would return it after the first one for a refund. Someone went to great lengths to set up a phone system for them, but never bothered to provide staff to take these calls. Again some nonsense. I'll update when the third one arrives and I get a chance to try it.
