When my 5 year old granddaughter first opened it she showed no interest and moved on to the next gift. But when we later showed her what she was capable of and what beautiful jewelry she could make, everything changed! She loves crafts and art and has embraced it like a fish in water. She even figured out how to mix two markers together to get a third color. By the time her holiday visit was over she had used up both of the extra jewelry boxes I had bought from him and proudly gifted each unique creation to family and friends. This is a great idea for Christmas and an easy successful project for kids. She's a year younger than the recommended age, but when we first showed her, she didn't need any help. I highly recommend it!
