Review on Replacement Impeller Aquarium Canister Microsystems by Sharon Johnson

Apparently after a few years of continuous use, the shaft wears out. The extra clearance allows the magnet to constantly bounce and bang against the case wall. The housing does not appear to have suffered any damage as after replacing the impeller the filter returned to its original rather quiet noise level. We let it get to the point of being obnoxious and immediately felt relieved after installation. Obviously simple installation - the impeller is in the filter cap with a screw cap. The price is high for what it is - so one star off for value.
