The ceiling fan in our dog room is old, at least 15 years old, and I was afraid we would have bad luck trying to find a replacement bulb. Technology is changing so fast that companies are stopping making old parts. Well this round lightbulb has the same model number and works great. As CFLs fade over time, I've forgotten how bright they were, and that's coming from a 13-foot ceiling fan in a 20-foot ceiling. Now that I know it works I'm going to buy two more and a new ballast. to cover me for at least another 10 years. The last lamp lasted over 15 years. The same TCP lamp. Be sure to read the model numbers!
