UPDATED REVIEW - Great deal at the price of

Let me start this review by saying we've been using the Audiovox GMRS1582CH for our annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia for the past eight or nine years. These radios are small, compact and have good battery life. However, their range is very limited for urban environments. I decided to buy a pack of 10 RT7s to compare how well they perform. My only criticism of the USB chargers is that there are NO outlet adapters included in my kit. Therefore, if you want to plug the USB into an outlet, you will need to purchase it separately. During our trip to Atlanta in September we used them from morning until late at night. The battery lasted the whole time. We charged them when we got back to the hotel and have never had a battery drain issue before. The earbuds made it a lot easier to hear in crowded environments without disturbing everything else, and they were quite comfortable to wear throughout the day. My only complaint is that some of the headphones stopped transmitting after a day or two unless the wires were placed in a certain position and locked. They seem to close easily. The antenna was a bit longer than I expected so we had to take that into account on occasional landings as it flexed slightly when we didn't position it, but no real issues. Now the big question on everyone's mind is range. Many reviews have said that range is determined by a number of factors. I'm very impressed with their reach. We used them at a convention held at various hotels a few blocks from downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Out of range was perfect. We were able to communicate anywhere in the conference area. As expected, things got a bit more complicated in the hotels. For the most part we were still able to communicate between several hotels inside. If we go down into the subterranean rooms, as you might expect, we will lose communications for the most part. Even outsiders can usually hear the hotel guests well. We'd like to upgrade our headphone sets to something more durable, but overall they work great. At under $15 a radio, you can't go wrong!
