Excellent bowl. Microwaved for 4 minutes and the handle was still cool so I could take it back to my desk without burning my hand. The sides are high enough that the content doesn't spill out. The lid is interesting. It doesn't snap to the rim of the bowl, instead the red silicone ring on the lid hugs the edges snugly, forming an airtight seal. Close the steam vent and the lid will remain tightly closed. I don't understand where in the instructions above it says that the lid cannot be used in the microwave. the box doesn't say so, and it's not entirely clear why it has a steam hole if it's not suitable for microwave use. I suspect they mean not to put the lid in the dishwasher and not in the microwave. But I haven't tested that yet.
