Mods required! on calipers with pads

I must have gotten a pair of "Friday Drive Time" calipers for my F250. You looked amazing! Until I tried to bleed her. The left front caliper was missing a gasket around the lower piston. The cuff was in place but fluid was pouring out of the plunger! I will say the customer service was superior. They immediately sent a new set and paid for shipping both ways. A bit inconvenient as I had no brakes while waiting for a replacement. But overall a good experience. One thing to note is that where the spring steel inserts attach to the caliper bracket, the powder coating will need to be removed. he is fat And prevents the brake pads from moving freely. This caused my first set of calipers to fail. The pads didn't move because they were too tight at the top and bottom. You can remove the coating or swap out the spring steel discs, but either way requires a bit more clearance for the pads to move. This will warp your rotors if the mod isn't done.

Pros
  • Brake System
Cons
  • Expensive
