More like a bath mat; the seams are visible

I took it out of the packaging and found that it was a soft fluffy fabric, more suitable for the bathroom than for the hallway. I can't imagine it going on like this. Also where the rug has been folded to fit in the package there are seams visible which are still clearly visible when unfolded - not at all like the unitary rug in the picture. To return.
