I went camping in Havasupai for a week and wanted to be able to hunt scorpions. I am very happy that I bought this lamp. Its wavelength is perfect for hunting scorpions - in case you didn't know - they glow neon green against an (ultra) purple background. And since Havasupai is located at the base of Arizona's Grand Canyon, scorpions are everywhere at night. along hiking trails, in bathrooms and, I'm sure, in and around campgrounds. So I was very happy when I wandered around at night. And its compact size and light weight make it ideal for trips where every ounce of luggage counts.
