My leopard gecko used this as a main skin straight away. she loved it. It's pitch black and she has enough space to lie down all day. Unfortunately, this does not increase the humidity in the box. I used a humidity sensor and kept it in the box for an hour and there was no difference between the ambient humidity and the humidity level in the box. This was after the slab had water for several days. Since I needed a wet fur, it is now being removed from the aquarium. Sometimes just better since I now use Tupperware with wet paper towels.
