The hammer lies very well in the hand and does not slip. And packs a powerful punch! I hate to admit that I have used my wooden rolling pin to flatten and tenderize chicken breasts and meat for many years. My arm lost a bit of grip strength so I decided to try this and I'm amazed at how much easier and even faster it is and doesn't put any strain on my arms at all. Love it.
