Review on Sanus BF24B Inch Speaker Stands by Robert Lemons

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Handy but fragile

These speaker stands are reasonably priced which is why I bought a pair. I think they are all overpriced for what they really are, including this one, but they seemed like the best budget option to me. They are good, even attractive, and seem to offer good prices. utility. I outfitted them with large Boston Acoustic HD8s before moving on to a Polk TSi100 and then a pair of B&W DM303s. But no matter what material they're made of (my guess: pressed bran flakes), it's sooooo fragile. When assembling them, I skipped a pilot hole in one of the vertical pieces and drove a screw about 1/8 inch into the material. The vertical part cracked about 6 inches along the edge! They seemed solid enough once assembled and when I thought about sending them back I figured I could live with the crack. Attention buyers. Carpet spikes are cheap plastic. Probably better than nothing, but only a little.

Pros
  • Made from medium density fiber to minimize resonance
Cons
  • Modern
