This device exceeded my expectations. EASY TO USE: It is bright enough indoors at a height of 10 meters. I was afraid the line would be fuzzy, but it's crisp and clear. Once you know how to work with functions, they are easy to use. QUALITY: I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the measurements. I checked the readings with a good quality digital scale and both readings matched perfectly. Repeatability and reproducibility were excellent. The nylon carry case, mount and card all seem to be of decent quality for the price. The user manual could use some improvements. It was very small and the writing was difficult to see. Unless you use this level for commercial purposes or to measure large lengths that require high accuracy, this level should be more than adequate, especially for home use. I used it for several days, maybe 2 to 4 hours intermittently, before I had to change the batteries. This appears to be correct and I have no complaints of excessive battery drain. When I measured my backsplash in the basement kitchen, I found that at 12 feet there was a 3/4 inch drop from end to end. I used a level to install 22 square foot 4" travertine tiles on the wall. Since stone tiles are not cut perfectly, tile spacers are useless. I would never attempt to make an apron like this again without using this level. It has literally saved me on this project CONS: I would give it five stars but I received the unit in an unlocked position which exposed delicate pendulums to unnecessary shock in transit As the calibration is not covered under warranty I could go along end up with a stressed out device. It's just impossible to say, although it seems right at the moment. RECOMMENDATIONS: YES, I would definitely recommend this to any homeowner or semi-pro for casual use. This device costs a lot less than brand name lasers and should provide years of use with proper care and handling.
