so this is my first security system. When you first look at your system, you look for all the bells and whistles: I want to be able to see all areas of my house, I want to record it, I want to zoom in and talk through it and have them disagree. Well, at least that's what I wanted. I work from home in a basement and wanted to know what's going on outside of my dungeon while I'm working. Do I really have to get up to see who's at the door? Why is the house quiet, the children are dead? But which system is best for me? I've wanted it for years but never got it because I didn't want to run video cables from every camera down to the basement, heeeeeee no. So wireless, yes please! All they have to do is plug power into a regular wall outlet, and then they wirelessly send the video to an NVR (DVR) device where it is recorded. At home, I don't have to spend money every month to rent a company cloud somewhere. No subscription fee! But what? At this point I still had at least 5 different brands. I finally chose Firstrend because they have all the great reviews about their customer service. And yes, you should use email because yes you are talking to someone around the world and yes there is a day or two delay. But it's worth it! Daisy will work with you to make things right! I had a difficult task because my DVR was supposed to receive signals from the basement of a 2500 square meter building. m in the suburbs of Ohio. Some cameras worked great right out of the box. Some cameras sometimes worked fine but lost signal after a few hours and then I had to unplug and plug them back in to get them working again. and 1 camera was just unnecessary and couldn't go further than the room where I had a DVR. But Firstrend customer service is here to help! We tried various troubleshooting options and after those issues were fixed they sent me two wireless boosters to apply to the cameras that were losing signal and a replacement for the camera that wasn't working. No forms, no hassle, just enter the Amazon order number, address, done, express delivery, return something, no, don't worry! YUP! Thank you for making this easy! and in the end I have a working system that I'm happy with. I would suggest buying a 4 camera system to try and you can always buy additional cameras later. The cameras have motion detection technology, but I didn't find the optimal spot on the sensitivity slider to get text on my phone for kids running sticks at each other in the driveway, but I ignore the differences in tree shadows, as I suspect this does can be a difficult task for any system. The NVR interface and the app interface are decent, not great, not crappy, but I'm satisfied. My next step is to try and share the app with my wife's phone so we both have access, but I know this is a bit of a trick as the company is trying to protect you from hackers. But this can be done. I also thought I wanted scheduled recording for some time and then just motion alerts for the rest of the time, but so far I've just stuck to Record the whole time and no alerts. Of course, that doesn't protect me from intruders smeared with bath salts, as they activate the motion sensor, but it's better than getting text messages every 5 minutes that flies/mosquitoes are always checking the camera's built-in red light for night vision. product, I would give 3-4 runs; But damn, customer support lets me make sure everything really works and there's no risk? 5 big $$ stars!
