I’m giving this a three-star rating because IMO, a three-star rating indicates ‘average’ and this item IMO is average based on the current market, for certain users. However, in my view this cook set is not suited for multi-day backpacking, or repeated car camping. But if you have limited funds and need/want a reasonably versatile cook set and willing to tolerate the weaknesses of this item, this may work for you. I do think it is a thoughtful and versatile concept, but poorly executed. The advertising seems to indicate this item is intended for general backpacking and camping but in my view, the only use I would feel comfortable with is placing it in an emergency bug-out bag, or auto emergency survival kit where it is unlikely to be used and if used, is probably only needed for a one time or short-term use. After over 30 years of military service, in war and peace, I have very high standards for all my gear but do recognize that some folks can’t afford a $75 cook/mess kit or have only limited use needs for a cook set and in that case, this item may be sufficient, I have no problem with the size of the unit (pots and pans) as I think it is the right size for one-person use and similar in size to many other higher quality and more expensive units and I think the quality of the aluminum is OK. The concept of this ‘cooking set’ is actually excellent in that the idea is to have a large pot; a small plate; a folding spoon, fork, and knife; a burner element/stove head for a small butane of propane canister; stabilizing canister stand; a handy small carabiner; a small cleaning sponge that all nestle into one unit enclosed in a mesh bag. Problems from my point of view include, lack of a securing over latch to keep the top plate securely attached to the bottom pot as the nylon mesh bag provided for this purpose does a poor job of it; the durability of the handles appear to me to be poor and unlikely to stand up to hard use; the stove/burner head is very difficult to fit back into its orange plastic container (I gave up on it and would use the stove burner/head container to store other items like matches, a lighter, salt and pepper, etc.); while there is no general instruction booklet, the box it comes in does clearly list all the contents on the outside of the box which appears adequate, but the instruction pamphlet for the stove/burner head has extremely small printing, so if you don’t have 20/10 vision, you may need a magnifying glass. I am all over the ‘you get what you pay for’ concept and don’t expect a $50 cook set to sell for $25, but for the price of this unit, it seems to me to be of average use and quality. I did not add any photos because I think the seller’s photos/videos on Ebay adequately represent this item.
