After receiving this hat today I had to write a review immediately because there is such a big difference to another 'merino' hat I recently ordered here at Revain for less than $11 - another turned out to be only half merino despite the listing formulation and it was spiky and tight and this one is super soft with not the slightest scratch - almost imperceptible to the touch but like a little tiny hug. I have quite a large head for a woman and hats are often too small so I was concerned as the company seems to be child oriented but the XL size fits me very comfortably and well. It's definitely worth the extra $10 to get this awesome hat - the other one wasn't cheap. I think it will fit most male heads as well as mine usually looks like this one in the middle. The mauve color is gorgeous and the style is simple with a slick front and a little baggy back (it might look more fashion forward on someone with a small head if that's important to you, but if you're more interested in warmth and comfort like me , you can be sure of the size, fit with a small margin at the back). But the most important thing here, of course, is the fabric - soft enough for a child and very comfortable to wear; Despite being lightweight, it is surprisingly warm and worked so quickly to keep me warm that I took it off again for a while. It is so beautiful to wear that I see myself looking for excuses to wear it.
