I'm surprised at the good quality for the price. To really see the floating bacteria, you need a lens with at least 400x magnification. The 1000x magnification allows you to see bacteria in great detail. It's just perfect for me and also for my son. We used it to discuss anything that interests us and we still enjoy it to this day. It's like a childhood dream come true. I wish I had had a good microscope when I was a kid.
