I wanted to connect four small fans to cool the 1/4 HP motor. for a pond aerator. The problem was that the solar panel just couldn't charge the 12 volt battery that also powered the fans at night. I could probably switch to a 6V battery and have a better chance of success. The included small voltage regulator seemed to work fine. Yes I understand the 12v battery was overkill but I already had it. Update: I originally bought a 20w solar panel. However, the solar panel was not sufficient for round-the-clock operation. I bought this 50 watt panel hoping it would help. I checked the power regulator tonight and it showed 12.1 volts for the battery. The instructions were simple and all I did was turn on the power control and check the display at start and 24 hours. after. I gave this review 5 stars because I am confident that this solar panel will continue to perform exactly as described.
