Review on SUNWAYFOTO T1A20D T Tripod Profile Section by Sarah Richards

Winning combination.Some restrictions.

I was looking for a compact and durable tabletop tripod for use at home and when traveling around town (in many places using a full tripod is prohibited for safety or tripping reasons). This one caught my attention. I ended up using a SunwayFoto XB-28 ball head and it turned out to be a winning combination. The legs are very strong and easily hold my 2.5 lb rig. The design is excellent. I love how they used a screw design instead of the usual steps/turns of external locking. Just unscrew each leg, extend and screw back on? them to the extended position. While it sounds like it would take a lot longer to lock legs, it wasn't too bad. Once you get used to the mechanics, you can expand fairly quickly. I also don't mind sacrificing a few seconds for a clean look. It folds up fairly well to be used as a video/selfie stick. The only restrictions are that the height is fixed, so there are positions 1 and 2 and extensions 1 and 2, giving you 4 possible fixed heights. The starting position of the tripod also seems a bit wide. I would like it tighter. Again, width means stability. Overall I'm happy with it for my purposes. I would probably recommend this set up to 5-6 lbs. or something, which should cover most camera and lens combinations. The XB-28 ball head is great. Very durable and able to take a lot of weight. The panning control is very tight, but loosens up a bit after playing a bit. The ball head is good, but not outstanding. Now, if you're using a high-end ball head like the RRS or Markins, don't expect its functionality to be comparable to this one, as it isn't. But for its price range, this combo is great for most people's needs. I love that the head is snug against the legs and the overall look is very clean and minimal.
