The rods add the right touch for theater curtains. One other advantage that is not obvious is the screw on crown ends. I bought the curtains to cover four window pairs. Four panes of glass in each window pair. The window pairs have about six inches of wall between windows, the pane have none. The curtains do not cover the crown balls of the rod. Two curtain rod balls are bigger than the wall space. Fortunately, one can remove the crown ball from one curtain rod so that only one ball will appear between the window pairs. So instead of Having two curtain rods and four crown balls I had two curtain rods and three balls.
