A really great meat thermometer for the price that can be used in two different ways. If you're trying to test something that's not in the oven, you can use the probe hidden on the back of the thermometer and stick it into the meat. If you want to observe something like a turkey in the oven, you can use a wired probe that can stay in the oven (with a digital reader outside the oven). We found that our meat thermometer went off during cooking. our thanksgiving turkey and couldn't figure out why it was taking so long to take the temp and let me tell you this new sensor is a huge upgrade over the old one we had. You can stick a wired sensor into the meat and leave the reader on the stove or attach it to the stove if it is magnetic as there is a magnet on the back of the thermometer's sensor. The thermometer is so easy to use that it turns on as soon as you remove the connected probe or plug. in the cord probe. The only thing I don't like is that I want the wired probe plugged in but in off mode so I can keep it bagged up - but that's okay. This thermometer works instantly and is very accurate, it also has a handy cheat sheet on the front that tells you how hot each meat needs to be to be considered 'done'.
